What People Are Saying

“Madison's mix pulled me in completely and made me feel every beat and breath of the performance. It felt like the sound wasn’t just heard — it was experienced.”

“I’ve had the privilege of hearing Madison’s sound mixes many times. Having heard hundreds of live venue mixes, I can honestly say he’s one of the best I’ve ever encountered. His mixes are always right on point — full, rich, and powerful without ever being overwhelming. He has an incredible talent for creating a loud, immersive experience that still feels balanced and clear. Every instrument and vocal finds its place perfectly in the mix. You can tell he truly cares about both the quality of the sound and the heart behind the music. Highly recommend him for any church or event that wants their sound to truly come alive.”

“This is my first newsletter, and I’m very impressed! What a delightful scope, from the simple to the actual equations that interests me as an engineer. I learned more than a few things, and feel more ready to volunteer for the found booth job… or the coming sound system revision/update we’ve been thinking about at my congregation. Sometimes I think I’m the only person with ears that work in my congregation, the sound is so off in the cheap seats and right on “front-and-center”. I don’t think we have someone that walks the hall each Sunday listening for the defects, and I feel more confident in offering myself to do so as a result of your newsletter, and this is only the first issue I’ve received! thank you.”

“Very nice content, especially the advanced section. I especially liked the technical phase details of delay to fight feedback; I had tried that myself, and information online is scarce. ”

“Thank you for great tips. 74 year old that just recently converted to the digital world with a X32 at church. We have a great integrator”

“I am finding these tips and tactics to be very good. I went to college in the early 90s for tv and radio production, so the soundboard was nothing new to me. However, mixing sound in an uncontrolled room, live, presents some different situations than studios or recording suites. Our praise band rehearses an hour before service each Sunday. In addition to warming up the room, that gives me a chance to adjust the levels to be at least close to what is needed. Like all performers, there is a different energy in rehearsal than there is during a live performance. My struggle is the speaking portions of our service, I've gotten better with our Pastor, because it is the same voice each week. He comes from a theatre background, so is very good at projecting to the mic. We rotate Elders for scripture readings etcetera, using the same mic at the pulpit as the pastor. The problem lies in getting good voice quality while compensating for those who eat the mic and those who look at it like a venomous snake and stay a foot or more away. Thank you for what you are doing, I really appreciate being able to see what works in real life, and make it work for me.”

“Really liked this weeks insight on phasing. This is my first edition of your newsletter and I think it will be a great tool for our church. Do you have a link for past newsletters? My main concern ongoing is EQ. I have a digital board (Presonus) with lots of options but not really sure what we are doing. God Bless Your labor and thanks!”
